You are only happy when you place your whole heart in an action.
This is the reading that I wrote for my cousin’s wedding this past weekend in North Carolina.
It was inspired by my life and written for how I feel about the Love of my life, Bonnie Fletcher.
This is going to be a departure from a traditional reading. When Gina approached me with this honor I knew that I was going to write this. I knew that I was not going to quote or read someone else's words about their experiences. I knew that I needed to be honest and understand what I think would be proper. I hope I will not let you down and thank you.
You have one life.
Within that one life you are faced with decisions.
With each of those decisions are consequences.
You access the consequences and act upon your logic.
Logic comes from past actions and courage.
Courage to be the person you are and courage to be the person you dream to be.
Courage is in trusting the soul inside of you and the heart that pumps you with life.
Love is courage.
Love is something that is not coincidence, but is earned through acceptance.
Acceptance of yourself and acceptance to allow yourself to be completely vulnerable.
Vulnerable to the partner you trust with your heart.
I would like to bless the union of Gina and Casey.
I thank you for allowing me to be here.
I also thank you for giving me the chance to see how beautiful your lives are as they become one.
You will succeed in everything you do as long as you follow the logic of your mind, the passion of your soul and the love that fills your heart.
You are about to embark on a journey with no clear destination.
The destination will never be what you expect, enjoy the life you are about to begin.
God is in both of you and has allowed you to Love.
Cherish it.
Cultivate it.
Let it live.
Do not be afraid to work on it as like anything in life, it needs time to grow.
Love every detail about each other because those details pieced together will give you the paradise you dream about.
I love you all and thank you for your time.
God bless.
